Astigmatism – what is it?
Astigmatism is a refractive error that causes distorted or blurred vision at various distances. It is caused by an altered shape of the cornea, which becomes similar to a rugby ball, making the corneal surface asymmetrical. Due to this curvature, differences in the refractive power of light rays occur, resulting in blurred vision regardless of distance. For example, the contours of an object may appear sharper from one angle than from another.

Laser vision correction
Although glasses and contact lenses help correct certain visual impairments, they are more like bandages and crutches — a temporary aid that does not eliminate the underlying cause of the problem as surgery can.
