Education
In 2019–2022, Mindaugas Variakojis obtained his qualification as an ophthalmologist at the Eye Diseases Clinic of the Kaunas University of Health Sciences.
Professional activity
In 2022–2025, Mindaugas Variakojis worked as an ophthalmologist at the Public Institution Šeškinė Polyclinic.
At the Šeškinė Polyclinic, the doctor actively diagnosed eye diseases and successfully applied the practice of ophthalmological laser treatment, including antiglaucoma and secondary cataract treatment.
While working at the Šeškinė Polyclinic, the doctor was evaluated and awarded by the General Director for his work and achieved results.
Professional training
In 2023, the doctor completed a theoretical and practical internship in laser eye disease treatment at the Kaunas Clinic of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences.
During the internship, he deepened his knowledge and practical skills in the following areas:
• Nd:YAG capsulotomy;
• Nd:YAG iridotomy;
• SLT – selective laser trabeculoplasty.
In 2025, the doctor completed an internship at the Academy of Cataract Surgery at the International Organization for Microsurgery of Ophthalmology.
Participation in international and Ukrainian conferences
Mindaugas Variakojis is a regular and annual participant in the annual conferences of the Lithuanian Society of Ophthalmologists and the Lithuanian Glaucoma Society.
