Natural vision improvement

Cataract treatment

Many doctors and scientists work to find out how to naturally improve human vision. Numerous theories have been developed explaining how to completely get rid of contact lenses and glasses, and which methods should be followed. Interestingly, there are people who managed to avoid a hopeless situation by training their eyes and unconditionally believing in the results of their efforts.

There are various opinions on whether it is necessary to take food supplements that improve vision. However, everyone agrees that if you do take them, they should be only those that do not contain synthetic substances, colorants, and… you must accept that a high-quality product always costs more.

Before reviewing various methods promoted by supporters of natural vision restoration, one should first become familiar with which vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and herbs improve vision and its sharpness.

Sometimes we mistakenly think that eye problems appear with age, without considering the difficulties faced by parents and their little ones, whose small noses from early childhood are “saddled” with long-legged foreign bodies. Most often, visual problems arise due to a lack of minerals, antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids, and other essential substances. For example, cataracts develop due to a lack of antioxidants and especially vitamin C, while lens degeneration occurs due to a deficiency of antioxidants and carotenoids.

If you needed to replenish your vitamin A reserves, where would you look for it? Vitamin A (carotene) is abundant in carrots, palm oil, mango fruit, tomatoes, spinach, fish oil, butter, milk, and aged cheeses. This vitamin is necessary for the eyes to transmit signals to the brain. Vitamin A is a group of fat-soluble substances with similar chemical structures. The most important of them — retinol — benefits the eyes. Absorbed vitamin A or carotenoids are converted in body tissues into retinol, which is essential for proper eye function.

Another important factor is antioxidants. These are food additives that prevent the oxidation of food products. Their function is carried out by vitamins C and E, and carotene. By the way, carotene is needed for the production of vitamin A. Meanwhile, humans cannot synthesize vitamin C, so it must be obtained by eating citrus fruits (oranges, grapefruits, lemons), kiwis, tomatoes, potatoes. A particularly large amount can be found in onions. An important antioxidant is vitamin E, which the human body should not lack unless the person has been starving, has impaired fat absorption, or had jaundice, pancreas, gallbladder diseases. You will always get enough of this vitamin if you consume cereals, and it is also abundant in oils.

Do not forget lutein and zeaxanthin — antioxidants that are first aid for the eyes when you work a lot at the computer. Scientists have proven that lutein reserves can be replenished by eating egg yolks, green leafy vegetables. These important antioxidants are abundant in spinach, lettuce, broccoli, peas. If you have problems with lens degeneration, you must consume spinach for at least half a year — studies show that the amount of lens pigment increases by almost 20 percent, which protects the eyes from ultraviolet rays.

To feel well, one must not forget other important factors for improving eye function — minerals. If a person lacks zinc, they risk developing many diseases, including eye diseases, especially cataracts. Some mushrooms (chanterelles, slippery jacks) contain a fair amount of zinc, and one should also consume meat and meat products, grains, nuts, and sunflower seeds.

Selenium is essential for the prevention of visual impairment and cataracts. Its effect is strengthened when used together with vitamin E. Usually, people do not lack selenium, except in cases of impaired intestinal function. Selenium reserves can be replenished by eating garlic, fish, red meat, yeast, wheat germ.

When encountering dry eye syndrome, intraocular pressure (important for the course of glaucoma), and to prevent corneal ulcers, omega-3 fatty acids are essential. Our body does not produce such fatty acids, but they are irreplaceable in forming biologically active compounds in the human body. The need for these acids can be met by consuming flax seeds, rapeseed, walnuts, and fatty sea fish — tuna, salmon, herring, mackerel, sardines.

Along with natural food supplements, one should not forget herbs intended to improve vision. It is necessary to eat blueberries, and in winter buy frozen blueberries (they do not lose their healing properties when frozen); dried ones are suitable as well — they simply need to be soaked in water. Speaking of improving vision, cooked blueberry jam or yogurts have no value. Sugar, like white bread, flour products, and foods containing wheat and gluten, is harmful to the eyes. An alternative to blueberries — bilberries. Do not forget (especially in winter) the very beneficial blueberry twig tea, which can be found in pharmacies. These herbs (berries) improve visual sharpness and reduce eye fatigue. If used for a little longer, you will be pleasantly surprised to feel your tired eyes recover.

If you have already taken care of food supplements and proper nutrition, then you should move on to a very important aspect — self-motivation that you can improve your vision. “Your own doctor,” you will say, and you will be right! Emotional calmness is an extremely important factor in helping yourself or your children cope with vision problems. This is acknowledged by both American and Russian scientists.
