Cataract treatment
There are many reasons why our vision deteriorates. Besides the general decrease in visual acuity, the modern generation also suffers from cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. The most beneficial foods for the eyes can help prevent these vision disorders.
Carrots are rich in a large amount of vitamins, primarily vitamin A, which is essential for the eyes. Because they contain beta-carotene, carrots help maintain visual acuity. Prepare carrot salad with sour cream or stew carrots with cream. This preparation method improves the absorption of fat-soluble carotene.
Blueberries. Thanks to vitamins B1 and C, as well as the pigment lutein, blueberries help maintain visual acuity and reduce eye fatigue. Blueberries retain their beneficial properties not only when fresh but also when frozen or even in jam form.
Dark chocolate. This product protects the blood vessels of the eyes due to the flavonoids it contains, which strengthen the cornea. However, be attentive: we refer to dark chocolate without additives or impurities.
Spinach belongs to the vegetables that contain a lot of lutein, which is highly important for preventing cataracts. Therefore, by consuming more spinach, you can reduce the risk of eye diseases by up to 10 percent.
Cottage cheese contains vitamin B2 (riboflavin), which stimulates and supports the metabolism of the cornea and lens, while vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) improves blood supply to the eyes and provides a supportive effect.
Pumpkin. In addition to lutein and zeaxanthin, pumpkin is rich in vitamins C, A, B1, B2, and zinc, which retains its properties even after thermal processing. Everyone can find a pumpkin dish beneficial for eye health, as this vegetable is used to prepare salads, soups, porridges, and even desserts.
Broccoli. This is another vegetable that supports vision because it contains lutein and zeaxanthin, which support the lens, as well as carotene, which protects eye cells from free radicals.
Fish and fish oil. These are sources of omega-3 fatty acids, essential for good vision. Salmon contains the most, but sardines, herring, and mackerel are also beneficial. Consuming fish oil helps prevent macular degeneration.
Onions and garlic. By consuming these products in various dishes, you help maintain or restore visual accuracy because onions and garlic are rich in sulfur.
Fruits are beneficial not only for the entire body but are also very important for the eyes. Kiwis, grapes, oranges, peaches, papayas… Green and orange-colored fruits are especially beneficial for the eyes.
