Cataract – What to Do? How to Treat?

Cataract treatment
Fortunately, now it is possible to talk calmly about this disease. Modern microsurgery in Lithuania allows all necessary examinations by an ophthalmologist and cataract surgery to be performed quickly, almost in a single day.
Sutureless cataract surgery has secured a strong position in medical practice due to its speed, safety, and excellent results. Many ophthalmology clinics have not progressed further, choosing to be satisfied with what they have already achieved. However, the progress of the 21st century provides patients with opportunities that were only imaginable ten years ago. Not taking advantage of the technological achievements of this century would be like refusing effective vaccines, medicines, diagnostic tools, and relying on old medical methods.
For cataract surgery, it is necessary to choose the best materials and, of course, a new multifocal intraocular lens. It would not be correct to say that only our clinic uses the best lenses; there are good lenses made in the USA. However, for our work, we chose English multifocal RAYNER lenses.
Since the creation and implantation of the first RAYNER intraocular lens (IOL) in 1949, half a century has passed. Despite all achievements, modern ophthalmology has not yet been able to restore the natural vision given by nature. The natural human eye lens has a unique property – the ability to change its shape depending on visual needs.
If you have never had vision problems in your life, you know how wonderful it is to see perfectly at any distance – reading a book, working on a computer, or looking into the distance. Until cataract develops, your eye lens was clear and elastic. It could easily adapt (by changing shape) to the required viewing distance. When a person turns 40, age-related farsightedness appears, and the lens gradually loses its elasticity, meaning it can no longer focus on near vision.
Ordinary intraocular lenses used in public hospitals for cataract surgery do not provide such “living” vision, so the patient must later wear glasses. Working daily with patients and paying great attention to their needs, we often notice that the joy of cataract surgery results is replaced by disappointment that glasses will still be needed for good near or distance vision.
The RAYNER company, introducing the RAYNER “M-Flex” multifocal lens, caused a fundamental breakthrough in ophthalmology. This lens was created to restore patients’ youthful vision, regardless of whether a cataract is being operated on or age-related farsightedness is being corrected.
The RAYNER “M-Flex” multifocal lens belongs to the latest generation of artificial eye lenses, whose implantation allows patients to permanently give up glasses after cataract surgery. This became possible due to special ring-shaped zones arranged in the optical part of the lens, which allow completely abandoning corrective glasses.
“M-Flex” lenses differ from other lenses by their large optical zone diameter. They are ideal for everyone, especially younger patients. The aspheric optics of this lens completely eliminate unwanted optical effects, such as glare or high contrast, even at night.
The patented Anti-Vaulting Haptic (AVH) Technology® used in the production of these lenses ensures perfect image centering and lens durability.
Simply put, after a well-performed surgery in a regular hospital, a person has to wear glasses, whereas after cataract surgery in our clinic, the patient enjoys true “living” vision – without glasses and for life. Good vision returns immediately. RAYNER lenses come with a 100-year warranty, certified by the UK manufacturer.
Our clinic’s goal has always been to provide patients with the best that 21st-century ophthalmology has to offer. And this should be available to everyone, not just a privilege for certain social groups. We certainly did not make a mistake many years ago choosing RAYNER as the undisputed global leader in intraocular lens production.
Currently, our patients are truly fortunate, as through the RAYNER “Living Vision” program, we have received the exclusive right to apply special, realistic, and affordable intraocular lens prices. By participating in this program, everyone can enjoy excellent vision. This is, without a doubt, the main advantage of our clinic – the ability to see well without glasses after cataract surgery, and, of course, all at a favorable price for you, your relatives, friends, and everyone.
