Laser vision correction
Farsightedness, or hypermetropia, is an accommodation disorder in which the ability to see objects clearly at close distances is reduced. Most often, farsightedness occurs in older people.
From a psychological point of view, impaired near vision can be triggered by a person’s unwillingness to see what is happening within themselves. Before making a decision, a person may try for a long time to evaluate and weigh all risk factors. However, in reality, such a person is unable to assess the situation in essence.
In the case of farsightedness, the muscles that change the curvature of the lens may lose their flexibility and elasticity because the person themselves becomes inflexible, loses adaptability, and remains subjective. Such a person tries to rely exclusively on past experience in everything.
The habit of looking at everything from the outside, while avoiding truly living one’s own life, interferes with acquiring new experiences. The manifestation of farsightedness at a young age may indicate excessive categorical thinking and idealism.
At an older age, farsightedness is almost considered normal—a sign of wisdom and experience acquired throughout life. This suggests that a person is capable of looking at life and events more detachedly, seeing things as a whole, and calmly perceiving and evaluating global events. However, some psychologists associate persistent farsightedness with a person’s desire not to see their aging body and its withering process.
In any case, to reduce the risk of developing farsightedness, it is useful to try to look at life realistically and avoid unnecessary categorical thinking in one’s thoughts and behavior. One should remain open to new experiences regardless of age. It is also important not to criticize or judge others for their mistakes.
