Eye exam

How can eyes and stress be connected? Why are scientists convinced that it is the visual organs that form the first danger signals reaching the brain? A stressful situation is processed much faster if a person sees, hears, and feels the accumulated negative information through their skin.

Extreme stress provokes a certain physiological reaction. A person must respond correctly to a dangerous situation, so adrenaline enters the bloodstream, which increases alertness, improves hearing, and vision. In stress mode, everything functions, including the eyes. Stress provokes strong contractions of the eye muscles, which negatively affects the eyes.

Stress is daily tension that can provoke complications in many organs and irreversible consequences. Stress is very dangerous for the eyes because it can trigger sudden vision deterioration.

In a stressful situation, we may notice floaters in our eyes, dryness, as if filled with sand. Strong visual discomfort causes many unpleasant sensations. However, there are several very effective exercises that can help relax from stress. Everyone in a stressful situation is advised to calm down a bit and perform certain exercises:

  1. Close your eyes and move your eyeballs a few times to the right, to the left, and make a few circular motions. This will relax the eye muscles and make you feel better.
  2. Gently press your closed eyes with two fingers of both hands. Keep the fingers pressed on your closed eyes for a few minutes until white circles appear before your eyes.
  3. After this exercise, do not rush to open your eyes. Allow not only your eyes but also your nerves to relax and try to calm down a little.
  4. Gently massage the area between the eyes and the eye corners. All anxiety and worries should fade into the background if you want to help your eyes and vision.
